The Chamonix valley offers a whole host of outdoor sports activities, winter and summer alike. Ski areas (ski, snowboard, cross-country, etc.) are open from December to mid-May, depending on snow conditions. If skiing is not your thing, you can always hike, snowshoe, ice skate or just enjoy the facilities on offer in France’s highest town. Rafting, hang gliding, climbing, golfing, mountain biking, fishing and horse riding are all available in summer. A number of spas are located close to the chalet. Chamonix is also home to many restaurants and nightclubs, as well as a casino, cinema and bowling alley.
